My REVIEW

This review is special for me because it is written by my mom.
When the book was delivered, she started reading it and she said, “I will be in your shoes for a day”
So here’s her take on the book –
“The cover is really catchy. I like the use of blue colour in it. People tend to forget that blue pleases the eye. I am happy that they seem to remember.”

“The narration was smooth. I really loved the story line because it involved Mumbai and its surroundings. My daughter, Princi studies there. So I loved reading those places and asking her about it.”

“The content was a good one, at least different from this generation’s cliché love story and I want to applaud the author for that. The story revolves around love, friendship and maturity. “

“I loved how Dr. Chirag has done beautiful character sketches. But maybe some more depth could have been imparted”
“Overall I loved the book. And I will recommend it for beginners”
“My rating will be 3.8/5”

So hey guys! I hope you liked the review. I mom asked me what all did I wrote about and she followed my steps 🙈🙈

When BOOK MAZE Meets Author:Tanmay Dubey

I had a great opportunity to interview the author of the amazing murder mystery,The Red Line.

Read on to know what went into the making of the book a hit!

1.How did this idea of writing  The Red Linestuck you? Was it some random day you were doing your work and it just appeared in your head? Specially a Murder mystery?

I am a huge fan of thriller, murder mystery genre. As a kid I simply adored James Bond movies and books so when I decided to write a book on this genre I was intrigued by the idea that if  turned the character of James bond upside down and throw him in a murder mystery situation how will he solve the mystery was the main inspiration to write the character of Hanumant Shastri and eventually this book

2. Was there any pressure or burden about meeting the expectations while writing the story? Or maybe the story won’t turn out like you have imagined?

The pressure was there when I was writing my first book, but since this is my third and I have a decent reader base now, so I was more confident and sure about my skills as a writer. If one is under pressure to perform in any job, he or she can never attain any result, so I don’t make friendship with pressure

3.Your last two books were of different genre. . So what/who was your inspiration to dive into this genre?

I love experimenting and challenging myself. I am not comfortable settling in only one genre. my favorite authors are DAN BROWN, ROBERT LUDLUM and FREDERIK FORSYTH all of them are masters in crime thriller genre and I am hugely inspired by them. Also I am a fitness enthusiast and love doing triathlons which include swimming, cycling and running whereas a lot of my friends have settled in adopting running as their fitness regime, I love multisport to feed my fitness aspirations. So I guess being multitasking and trying new things is a part of my existence

4.Writing a real life tale is difficult specially when it deals with the Defence sector. So what kind of research did you do? And how much time did it take to make the plot and everything?

I met a lot of people from Ministry of Defence  and had researched a lot on this subject ( since this involves matters of national security i cannot take names ) but i spent good 6-8 months researching

5.Murder mystery includes pinning the murder and then creating the suspense and unsolve your own made suspense. How do you deal with it? Your book was so accurate and impressive.

It was tough being true to the audience while creating and solving the suspense but guess i took that challenge for myself and enjoyed every bit of it

6.What’s that one tip all new writers who are thinking of delving into this genre  should know?

The biggest challenge is while you enjoying throwing suspense to the readers it become absolutely crucial to conclude the suspense in a logical way. So Writers should be extremely careful about this

7.Your ending suggested a possible second part. When it will release?

Hopefully in 2 years time from now !

8.One request as a reader. Can you take  this partnership of Hanumant and Azar into many  adventures? Like create a series and set of their adventurous stories. We all will love that.

Thanks for Loving Hanumant and Azhar, that’s the idea behind bringing the partnership and eventually creating an exciting adventure series including both of them

🌸REVIEW IN SECONDS

This was definitely one of a kind read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The way the author handles the sensitive topics is commendable. Here are my takes on it.

Title is so apt and the cover design and painting is very beautiful. I read at the  last about the cover and it made me look again and analyze it. Colour combination has been used in a nice way amd and so did the woman in the middle.

🌸PLUS POINTS

Narration has been smooth, easy, understandable by everyone who reads.

Characterisation is very elaborate that makes you know their history well and connect with them. The facts has been beautifully and correctly utilized. Really love the fact that the author did so much research into the story line.

🌸MINUS POINTS

For me definitely it will be too many characters and confusing name. I again and again turn over the pages to catch up.

At some places in the fight scene, imagining the sequence was becoming difficult.

❤️🌸I guess I have nothing more to say.,no more minus points..

I recommend this book for leisure reading and the deep insight you want to have of J&K and POK.

Book Review : Ashok and the Nine Unknown

Author – Anshul Dupare

Thank you Book Genie PR for the review copy. http://www.thebookgeniepr.com/

I am Little late in this review.

Sorry but I guess the June came with this slump.

I read Ashok and the Nine Unknown a few days back,so here’s my take on it.

Summary

You know what, the best revenge will be watching you failing to achieve your dreams. Do what you can, Ashok. The game has just begun!

Ashok wandered amidst the corpses, helplessly, looking like a dead man walking among the dead. The wailing of people who had lost their loved ones on the battlefield cut into his soul and it was then that he heard a cry for help.

As realization of the devastation of war seeped in, Ashok decided to dedicate his life towards the betterment of society and try his best to prevent any destruction of life. Realizing he could not do so single-handedly, Ashok created a secret society comprising nine chosen members, who were known as the ‘Nine Unknown’, to help preserve knowledge that, in the wrong hands, could be used to destroy humanity.

Little did Ashok know that the safekeeping of such knowledge had a high price to it; that shadows walk amidst us and that sometimes our actions unspool unimaginable consequences.

The first of two volumes, this book has the power to transform your idea of reality!

Review

I have picked up this book reading the blurb and it was interesting. The kind that keeps me going.

Coming to the title and the cover. Kudos to the designer for making this appropriate and beautiful cover. Also the title is up to the mark.

Writing style is easy, smooth. Any beginner can start reading it .

I have read quite a number of mythological fiction by now and I felt this as appealing as it can be. But it some cases, the magic elements are used a tad extra which makes it unreal.

Like regrowth of hands and eyes, and the whole scene in Mayong.

It was fun to read these magical activities but the logic lost there.

Other than that the whole book was a fantastic read with the characterisation and everything done so well .

It you wanna start with mythological thrillers, you should totally start with this.

Book Review : Men and Dreams in the Dhauladar

Man and dreams in the Dhauladar

Author – Kochery C shibu.

A beautiful self published book

Summary

In a project site in the remote Himalayas where superstitions and religious beliefs are as important as the engineering Nanda, Khusru and Rekha come together through a series of twists and turns in their lives. The dreams and aspirations of people come alive as the story progresses. Each has a story to tell and a dream to realize. The fury of nature and the hardships of project life have no mercy for the weak and no time for the dead. Even Nanda who has seen death from close quarters and is hiding from the law is taken aback by the callous attitude towards life. He is the silent man of the project, the one who never talks. Intrigue and real life get mixed with the sudden appearance of Rekha, the lady doctor, at the camp site. Rekha’s quest for a man whom she can love and worship takes her on an unforeseen journey from where she has to choreograph her way out. The handsome Kashmiri youth Khusru is envied by all at the site. Little do they know that the ghosts of Khusru’s past are plotting to turn his world upside down. Nanda is torn between his love for his dear ones and his kalari code of revenge. He looks to the Dhauladhar ranges for answers to come to terms with his personal loss and a little more dignity for those who perish. Like an eternal spectator the Dhauladhar watches as men risk life and limb in their quest. Men and Dreams in the Dhauladhar is a novel inspired by the numerous years the author spent working on a Hydro electric project in the Himalayas.

MY REVIEW

A collection of short reads, the author has done a great job in portraying the stories of the Himalayas. The narration is satisfying, no words for character sketches they are too good. The stories are woven gently making it easier to touch the heart. The pages play beautifully in various emotions of the heart. At times it felt like I am myself connected to the people in the book. I chose this book after reading the blurb so full marks to the blurb. It is such a well thought book. My favorite story was the, “The Tunnel Life” I think the cover could have been improved a bit. Once again a Kindle read, so you guys can read it anytime. I am recommending it to everyone, beginner or advanced cause everyone will relate to one story or the other.

BOOK REVIEW : CURSE OF ANUGANGA

Book name : Curse of Anuganga

Author – Harini Srinivasan

SUMMARY

Circa 403 C.E. In the thriving city of Nandivardhana, lives Shaunaka, a young man who yearns to go to Pataliputra to see the world and make his fortune. But he is forced to join his father’s jewellery making business and soon finds himself in the workshop — a job in which his heart clearly did not lie. Thankfully, along comes distraction in the form of two extravagant Weddings — royal nuptials at the palace and another wedding at the extravagant corner house in the Buddhist quarter of the city. This house, known for its opulence and sheer size, is owned by Vinayashura, an affluent trader fabled to have mysteriously deep connection to the royal family. Shaunaka is given the charge to work on the bride’s jewellery at the corner house, but instead of the mundane task at hand, a morbid sight awaits — The Trader’s wife’s bloodcurdling screams bring Shaunaka to Vinayashura’s bedroom where he is found murdered and lying in a pool of blood!

MY REVIEW

Who killed Vinayashura? This question grips you till the end without any subtle cues and that made the book one of the best read ever.

I love mythological thriller and the way she has narrated the whole story is commendable. Pataliputra’s history fascinated me from the very beginning in school days and a thriller based on that was worth the read. After Amish, her writing style was best. Mauryan history has always grabbed much attention and the author has used it for her advantage.

Characterisation has been done beautifully and you connect with every character and their role.

The author has got all the facts correct and has done in depth research. Reading her bio, this amount of research and awareness was expected.

I really loved reading it. This book was suitable for both beginners and advanced readers.

Hope to see more of the genre from her.

Totally recommending it to everyone who loves this genre

BOOK REVIEW :THE RED LINE

SHORT SUMMARY

Inspired by true events, THE RED LINE is a thrilling murder mystery that treads the dark by lanes of international espionage and corrupt defense deals. The exciting story witnesses the journey of an honest cop to discover his true dharma and a brave women army officer’s selfless service for her country.

REVIEW

Before starting the review I would like to thank the publishers for such good page qualities and editing. The first of the review copies that has impressed me in so many ways. Though some pages at the last were needed to be cut, but still good quality made me happy.

First impression is the last one.

So with a happy mood I started reading it. I had hoped for it to be a good book but no high expectations but oh lord, this book has leaped beyond my expectations.

The cover design is so apt. The character development has turned heads. I could not stop reading this book and finished it in 3 hours. After a year some book has hooked me like this.

Red Line has perfect elements of murder, thrill, mystery. And given the fact that it delves deeper into the Defence administration gives it a edge.

The author has done a in depth research for the book and it shows in every line. The book ends with a hint of sequel. Who doesn’t like that?

I now look forward to read his previous books so much.

BOOK REVIEW : YES I MET MARUTI

Book name – Yes I Met Maruti
Author – Daxesh Trivedi
Page – 164
Publisher -Bluerose Publishers.

🌈 BLURB

This Book is a story of Jay – The Protagonist from Vadodara, who believes in imagination. During his graduation days he fell in love with a girl named “Preeti”. Things turns spicy when God named “Maruti” arrives in his dream. He does a barter system with God to become a successful person.

🌈Review

The book is a short read. It’s based on a imagination and the story revolves around the God Maruti and a love story Coming to my rituals, I will first start with the cover.

🌸I myself do not like the cover too much. It seemed that the designer did not put much effort.

🌸 The start of the story was sluggish in the beginning but then it picked up pace.

🌸I really liked the story telling of the main character also the chemistry between the foreigner and him. The power of imagination was beautifully used. And the comedy puns in between were funny too. He has tried to bridge a gap between the generations and connectivity with the audience. It was well thought.

🌸 If you are a Gujrati, this book will take you to a nostalgic trip. Too many places of Gujarat are mentioned. It’s nice though

🌸The editing and proofreading needs to get revamped I guess. There were mistakes in the first page too.

🌈 Overall it’s a nice read. If you want to pass your summer days, go for it. Also very happy that he hasn’t wrote a Cliché romance story.

BOOK REVIEW : THAT SINFUL DAY By AJIT PANICKER

Hello readers!

Today I am back with another book, which is rather short and crispy.

Do give it a read. I hope you will love it.

This story is the first from Ajit Panicker’s Book L. S. D,bold series 1.0. Before beginning the review, I would like to let you know that it contains bold views and is intended for mature and adult readers.

My Review

Short stories always attracted me. They would begin just like a leaf from someone’s life without any major introductions and end just like that. This story is a perfect example of a short story with beginning and ending on an abrupt note. So you all can guess I loved the format.

The story is spread on 21 pages in Kindle format and took me just 20 mins to read. So anyone who is up for a short read do consider this.

The title goes well with the content. It revolves around the life of Kunal from college to his marriage. The character development is appreciable. Overall it gives satisfaction as a short read.

Eager to read the other stories of the series. Hope I reviewed it successfully without giving spoilers, cause it’s for you to know!
